Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and sprinkle the coconut and pecans evenly over the bottom.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add the buttermilk, yogurt, oil and vanilla and whisk for 1 minute until thick and smooth. Stir in the hot coffee until the batter is glossy, then pour it gently over the coconut and pecans and spread it evenly.
In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla and beat until creamy.
Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the chocolate batter, leaving small gaps between them. Drag a skewer through a few times for a light marbled look, then sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the chocolate areas are set and a toothpick inserted into a chocolate section comes out with a few moist crumbs. The cream cheese areas will stay soft and gooey, creating the signature cracked top.
Cool for at least 1 hour before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature, and store leftovers in the fridge.
